Summary: We loved our stay at Bob's Adirondack Lakefront Cottage in Hadley! At first, I thought the rental included the entire 210 acres directly on the property, but the house is actually across the street. You still have access to the 210 acres across the lawn where Bob and his family live, which is where the hike up to the mountain and off-grid cabin starts. This setup worked out even better as it felt much safer and more comfortable than being completely isolated on such a large empty property. The home itself was very peaceful, and we felt secure the whole time.Some highlights: sitting out on the porch patio and down by the dock were favorite relaxing spots, and the hike to the top of the mountain overlooking the lake and off-grid cabin was well worth the 45-minute climb, a true trip highlight. The dock has been updated from what you see in some of the older photos due to wind blowing the previous furniture structure away. There’s now an umbrella tied to the dock and a picnic table, which made it perfect for shade on sunny days. We also made a fire and had s’mores with the provided s'more sticks, such a fun bonus!Bob was a wonderful host, very communicative, and made sure everything we needed was in place. A top stay overall, and one I’d definitely recommend for anyone looking for peace and nature. We hope to be back next year!
