Enjoy hiking the trails of Pisgah National Forest-Grandfather District from the cottage or a short drive.
Bicycle from the cottage to the well-known Heartbreak Ridge Trail or
take a shuttle with Mountain Top Shuttles.
Trout fish in the creek just steps away from the house or in the National Forest at Curtis Creek (all NC Wildlife licenses, regulations, and laws apply).
You will have a feeling of remoteness and the town is not far away.
The living area has an abundance of games, books and puzzles for you to unwind the day. A small but updated kitchen has the essentials for cooking your favorite meals. The screened-in back porch which overlooks the creek is the best place for morning coffee/tea and an evening cocktail.
The first floor has a small bedroom that opens onto the porch for listening to the creek flow by and a step-in shower. The second floor has a quirky art room for music, writing, painting or reading, a bedroom with a reading nook, and a bath with a tub/shower combination.
Old Fort is 6 miles from the cottage and has Hillman Brewery, Mountain Gateway Museum, Arrowhead Art Gallery and Studio.
The newly constructed Old Fort Gateway Trailhead is minutes away.
Marion is 30 minutes East and is a small town with shops, restaurants, a brewery (Mica Town), a meadery (Keeper's Cut) and an arcade (The Feisty Goldfish).
Black Mountain is 30 minutes West and offers small shops and restaurants.
Asheville is 40 minutes West and has so much to do and breweries galore.
