This 3 bedroom cabin is in the middle of the Sequoia Nat'l Forest ( the Nat'l Park is 2-3 hrs away). The Alta Sierra Community were it's located is close to Lake Isabella, the Alta Sierra Ski & Tube Resort, historic Kernville and the Kern River. Our cabin comfortably sleeps 4 adults and 2 kids. Come enjoy the smell of the huge trees surrounding you and enjoy the quiet in this rustic, woodsy environment!

Summary: The cabin was what we expected. House clean, hot water, clean bathroom, host helpful, area remote and peaceful, and close to hiking and small towns if you need supplies. We went at the end of October and it got cold at night. Only suggestion for winter visitors is to bring warm clothes and blankets, because heater in cabin only heats top two rooms, while a very cold draft comes through both front doors making the living room very cold and making it impossible for the central heater to heat the living room/down stairs. Also, winter visitors should consider picking up enough fire wood in town because you will need the fire to warm the living room space continually. You can not keep the heater on all night, because top rooms get extremely warm while the bottom of house/living room remains cold, do to draft coming through front doors, and the thermostat is in the living room. However, host had provided very warm blankets and the October weather was not a problem at night with the warm blankets provided by host. Overall our stay was pleasant and our small children enjoyed the 3 day trip.
